Our average medical information consultant has over 19 years’ experience and holds two credentials from coding, CDI and/or compliance accrediting associations. These include the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), the Association of Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialists (ACDIS) and the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA).

Dana Brown, MBA, RHIA, CHC, CCDS, CRC | President
Ms. Brown founded RMC in 1994, with the desire to assist healthcare facilities in obtaining correct reimbursement and minimizing lost revenue through complete and accurate coding, documentation improvement, and education. Prior to founding RMC, Ms. Brown performed DRG Validation, Admission, and Utilization Reviews for the Oregon PRO/QIO. She has extensive management, education and coding experience spanning her 30+years in HIM. Ms. Brown’s expertise in Compliance, Inpatient Coding, DRG’s/MSDRG’s, OIG & RAC Targets, Clinical Documentation Improvement, as well as an interest in HCC and Critical Access Hospitals round out her areas of focus at RMC. Ms. Brown’s vision for RMC is to continue to support our clients with exceptional services, delivered by exceptional staff.
Chris Breithoff, CPC, CPCO, CDEO, CRC | Director, Physician Coding Services
Chris has worked in the medical arena since 1985 with an emphasis on coding & compliance for 18 years. Chris has a diverse background which includes managing large private practices, additionally, managing a physician coding department for a large teaching hospital. In these roles, Chris’ was responsible for the day to day coding, education of coders and providers, as well as overall compliance of the revenue cycle. Chris’ areas of expertise include Evaluation and Management coding, Critical Care, Emergency, Gastroenterology, Pulmonary, Cardiology and Sleep Medicine. Chris joined RMC in 2012 as an Auditor. In 2015 Chris took the helm of the Physician Coding Services and has done an outstanding job assuring exceptional services to our clients and focusing on RMC staff engagement.
Stacy Hartstine, RHIT, CCS | Director, Hospital Coding Services
Stacy joined RMC in 2006, and is RMC’s Director of Coding Services. In this role Stacy oversees all coding services performed and is ultimately responsible for the quality of coding services provided by RMC staff. Additionally Stacy is on the RMC review team and performs coding quality reviews for RMC clients and internal staff. Stacy has over 20 years’ experience in the Health Information Management field and has held various positions of Coder, Coding Compliance Coordinator and HIM Director. Stacy is multi-talented with inpatient and outpatient skills and a wonderful educator and trainer. Stacy has been a vital part of development and implementation RMC’s ICD-10 training program and participates in ongoing teaching of staff and clients. Stacy enjoys conducting audits, researching coding issues, and providing education to coders. Stacy is an RHIT, CCS and an AHIMA approved ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer with experience in coding and auditing of ICD-10-CM and PCS. Additionally, Stacy is an active member of AHIMA, TxHIMA , and currently serves as Secretary for HAHIMA.
Marquita Rawlins, RHIA, CCS | Director, Hospital Review Services
Marquita Rawlins, RHIA, CCS is RMC’s Director of Hospital Review Services. In this role Marquita oversees all coding reviews performed and is ultimately responsible for the quality of services provided by RMC staff. Marquita has 14 years of experience in the Health Information Management field. She is a graduate of the University of Alabama in Birmingham, with a Bachelor’s of Science in Health Information Management. Marquita’s past positions include Manager of Audit Services, DRG RAC Auditor, and most recently an ICD-10 Auditor for acute care facilities nationwide. She has worked in small and large bed hospitals in Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee. Marquita joined RMC in 2015 and currently is the Director of Hospital Review Services for RMC.
