Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with our friends in Texas affected by Hurricane Harvey. The aftermath of Harvey has overwhelmed Houston and the surrounding areas with much heartache, loss and devastation. Many of us feel the urge to lend a helping hand, here are a few great ways to donate:
AHIIMA has established the Health Information Relief Operation (HIRO) Fund to assist communities of health information professionals whose personal or professional lives have been severely disrupted by a natural or man-made disaster.
The HIRO Fund will provide immediate material relief made possible through an initial $10,000 donation from AHIMA and the generosity of AHIMA members and the greater professional community of health information management. CLICK HERE TO DONATE
AAPC will coordinate with local chapter leaders to determine the best use of these funds. In the past, they have replaced home essentials (bedding, hygiene, clothing, etc.) and some professional resources as our members get resettled after natural disasters. CLICK HERE TO DONATE
